Getting Started with Longarm Quilting



Are you interested in learning more about longarm quilting? This great class is a show and tell of all the best features of the Handi Quilter machine lineup. The basics will be covered, including machine and frame maintenance, loading a quilt, setting your tension, and picking the perfect thread to stitch out the perfect design. Questions about everything quilting related – from pantographs to stencils – will all be answered in this great back to basics class.

After quilting many large quilts on a domestic sewing machine, Allison purchased a HQ Sweet Sixteen? stationary machine which was well used for many years. She now owns an HQ Avant?? and HQ Amara? and loves the freedom of quilting both smaller and larger projects with ease.

She has a studio and classroom in her Calgary home and does customer quilts as well as longarm machine rentals and offers a variety of sewing and quilting classes. Allison encourages students to go further and see what they can do on their own. Allison will be teaching all classes on October 28th and 29th.
